Annual check for dog and cat
Annual examinations make sense at any age
Not only good nutrition, sufficient exercise and occupation are part of keeping cats and dogs healthy. Our regular annual check-up is also part of it. In this way, we can detect diseases at an early stage, which are not yet indicated in everyday life, and promote the health of your animals.
How often is a check-up necessary?
The value of a preventive check-up lies in its regularity, because serious diseases can spread quickly and unnoticed and are often only detected when they are already far advanced - such as most kidney diseases, for example. That is why the annual check-up, including extensive laboratory tests, makes sense at any age. In the case of younger animals, we also obtain basic values that we can use for comparison in later examinations. We recommend repeating the check annually. This can be combined with the annual vaccination.
How does the annual check work?
Our team will be happy to advise you on whether you should have the BASIS or PLUS annual check-up. The decisive factors here are the age, size and general condition of your pet. When making an appointment, you do not necessarily have to commit yourself yet. It is important to us that we can look after your pet individually: that is why this flexibility is a matter of course for us.
Your pet should be sober for the examination in our practice, no further preparation is necessary. After the check we will discuss the results with you. If we find indications of a (threatening) disease, we will discuss with you the possible treatment or preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of the disease. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have about your pet's health during the annual check-up - weight control and nutritional advice are also included.
It is best to make a note of any questions at home so that you do not forget anything at the agreed appointment.
